Signage at the wool house

We’re delighted to announce that our signage has now been installed at The Wool House, which means that anyone passing by can get a glimpse of what’s to come at The Wool House.

You may also notice our woolly mascot, Woolliam, on our signage, who happens to be the fount of all knowledge about the development. If you just want to scan the QR code located next to him, he will do his best to answer your questions.

In case you were wondering, construction is progressing well – and we are now at the ‘topping out’ stage – that means we are on floor six, the top floor, putting up the last of the light gauge steel structures.

Lower down the building, we are floor screeding and installing further load-bearing partitions.

After lengthy discussions, we have also finally agreed with the planning department the kind of bricks and window frames that will be used and with these decisions made, we have placed our orders with the manufacturers and once they arrive, we will be going full steam ahead to transform the exterior face of the wonderful Wool House.

If you are not aware, it is now possible to reserve the apartment of your choice for only £1,000 by contacting our agent, Kim Harrison at Youngs RPS on 01434 608980 who will talk you through pricing and timescales.

In the meantime, the FAQ section on the website may well answer all your current queries about the development and the kind of fixtures, fittings and outlook over the town and Tyne Valley that you can expect.

“With a fair wind, and no further delays to supplies, we are envisaging that the scheme will be complete around the start of December 2022.”

Mr Skelly held an informative ‘virtual’ meeting with the Hexham Hub this week, which went well. Members of the Hub were very supportive of the development and keen to see the site brought back into full use after being derelict for around 15 years.

Forty-five contemporary, new-build apartments are planned for the old swimming pool site featuring six one-bedroom apartments, 34 two-bedroom apartments, two two-bedroom duplex apartments and three two bedroomed penthouses with balconies.  The accommodation is complemented by landscaped communal gardens and ample under croft and external car parking.

Agent for the scheme is the Hexham office of Youngs RPS.  Expressions of interest are already being accepted and by Easter, Youngs RPS will formally launch The Wool House in a local venue with a show flat opening following on a few months later.
